Meet Captain Jack Limroth

Captain Jack Limroth is the owner and operator of King Tide Charters and a lifelong student of the Chesapeake Bay. His passion for fishing started early, spending countless days on the water and at the docks, learning from experienced local captains. Over the years, he developed both the skills and the commitment necessary to guide successful charters, turning his childhood fascination into a full-time profession. His time on the bay has given him a deep respect for the area’s ecosystems, and that respect shapes every trip he leads.

A former Chesapeake Bay Fellow at Norfolk Academy, Captain Jack drew inspiration for the name “King Tide Charters” from the powerful tides that shape the bay’s fishing patterns. That name now represents his goal—to deliver the highest-quality experience for every guest, every time. Captain Jack is known for his calm and focused presence on the water, offering a supportive and knowledgeable approach for anglers of all backgrounds. Whether guiding beginners or helping seasoned fishermen fine-tune techniques, he puts in the time to make sure each outing is as productive as possible.

His trips are always tailored to the guests onboard, using techniques suited to both the current conditions and the preferences of the group. Captain Jack regularly uses light tackle, bottom fishing, spinning, jigging, and trolling, and is happy to introduce guests to fly fishing or bowfishing when the opportunity arises. His ability to read the water and adjust strategies on the fly ensures a well-rounded experience that fits the pace and goals of every charter.

The boat behind each trip is a 25-foot C Hawk center console, built in 2014 and equipped for a wide range of fishing styles. Powered by a 225HP Suzuki engine, the boat can move quickly to reach productive areas while offering a smooth and stable ride. It comfortably accommodates up to six guests and includes modern navigation tools, safety gear, and a livewell for bait. The spacious layout allows for easy casting and movement, making it a reliable platform for everything from sight casting to bottom fishing across the Chesapeake Bay.
